Submit Your Research for Presentation
The Journal of Financial Planning invites you to submit extended abstracts (1,000 to 1,500 words) of unpublished research papers on all topics of financial planning in consideration for presentation at the FPA Annual Conference. The research presentations are co-sponsored with the Academy of Financial Services.

The research presentations at the FPA Annual Conference are consistently well received and well attended. This is your chance to present your unpublished research to engaged practitioners who are eager to share their immediate thoughts and feedback.
- All submissions will receive acknowledgement of receipt.
- Abstracts will be sent through a blind peer-review process.
- A limited number of 15-minute presentation slots are available.
Cash prizes will be announced onsite for the best theoretical and best applied research.

Participate in the Financial Planning Challenge
This three-phrase competition, hosted by FPA, Ameriprise Financial and CFP Board, supports the next generation of financial planners by:
- Engaging students and academic advisers in the financial planning community
- Raising awareness of career opportunities
- Encouraging students to learn and network
- Engaging students in a holistic financial planning learning experience
Teams compete in three phases:
- Written Case Study
- Case Study Presentation
- “How Do You Know?” Challenge (a game-show style financial planning knowledge contest)
The top 8 teams and their advisors receive:
- complimentary one-year FPA membership
- complimentary registration to the FPA Annual Conference
Scholarship prizes!
- 1st place team: $10,000
